During a match between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United in HBL PSL 8 on Thursday, left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir had a few confrontations with the opposing batsmen. Emerging batsman Hassan Nawaz tried to attack Amir on his first delivery but missed, and Amir said some words to him. However, Nawaz hit the next ball for a boundary. Later, Nawaz top-edged a short delivery from Amir and was caught out, which led to Amir giving him a send-off.
Tom Curran also faced Amir and hit him for a boundary on his first ball, but Amir exchanged words with him. Amir took two wickets in his four-over spell, conceding 30 runs.
In a previous match on Tuesday, Karachi Kings lost to Peshawar Zalmi, with Babar Azam scoring a match-winning knock of 68 runs from 46 balls. Babar flicked Amir for a boundary during his innings, which apparently frustrated Amir, and he threw the next ball towards Babar.
In a pre-match interview on Thursday, Amir said that his behavior was a heat-of-the-moment thing and that it was nothing personal against Babar. He also expressed the view that bowlers should show aggression on the field.
Karachi Kings have not won any matches in HBL PSL 8 so far.
