Iftikhar Ahmed shone in an entertaining match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators on Sunday, as he hit six sixes in the final over of the innings off pacer Wahab Riaz.
This strong finish from Ahmed led Quetta to victory with 94 runs in 50 balls, as he remained undefeated. Despite taking three wickets, Riaz gave up 47 runs in his four overs and still praised Ahmed’s impressive display.
Zalmi failed to reach their target of 185, scoring 181-7 in 20 overs with Mohammad Haris leading with 53 runs and Shahid Afridi and Babar Azam adding 25 and 23 runs, respectively.
Quetta’s Mohammad Hasnain was the top bowler with 3-30 in four overs, and Naseem Shah successfully defended 9 runs in the final to secure Quetta’s win.
