Karachi Kings emerged victorious over Multan Sultans in their recent Pakistan Super League match, winning by a margin of 66 runs. However, the match was not without controversy as Karachi Kings’ captain, Imad Wasim, was heard using abusive language towards Sultans’ batsman Ihsanullah.
After Anwar Ali’s dismissal in the 16th over, Imad can be heard on the field instructing his teammate Akif Javed to only bowl bouncers to Ihsanullah and not full-length deliveries. Imad used an offensive term to refer to Ihsanullah during this exchange.
Ihsanullah managed to survive the three balls from Akif, finishing the match not out on zero as Multan Sultans were bowled out for 101 runs in the following over.
This isn’t the first time Imad has been penalized for his conduct on the field. Last year, he was fined five percent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the PSL Code of Conduct during a match against Islamabad United. Imad had been found to have used language, actions or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon their dismissal.
