India Launches ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a Victory Over Pakistan

India secured a victory in the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup by defeating Pakistan in a low-scoring match. After losing the toss, Pakistan chose to bat first and faced difficulties from the start.

However, the 81-run partnership between Ayesha Naseem and Bismah Maroof helped stabilize the innings and Pakistan managed to score 149 runs, losing four wickets in 20 overs. Captain Bismah Maroof made a remarkable 68 runs in 55 balls, with seven boundaries, while Ayesha Naseem contributed 43 runs in 25 balls, including two boundaries and two big sixes.

In response, India began slowly and lost three quick wickets in the first ten overs. Nashra Sandhu was the star bowler, taking two crucial wickets, including that of Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Jemimah Rodrigues played a match-winning innings of 53 runs in 38 balls, with eight boundaries, and Richa Ghosh also played a crucial role in the victory with 31 runs in 20 balls, including five boundaries.

With this victory, Pakistan’s losing streak against India continues.
