Javed Miandad dismisses India’s withdrawal from Asia Cup 2023
Former Pakistan cricket captain, Javed Miandad, has made a bold statement regarding India’s recent withdrawal from the Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan.
He stated during an exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators that Pakistan doesn’t need India to survive in cricket. Miandad also criticized the Indian government, saying they are afraid to play against Pakistan and know that the public won’t spare them if they lose.
The Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Najam Sethi, has also replied to the withdrawal, stating that Pakistan will not travel to India for the ICC World Cup 2023 as India always backs out of opportunities when Pakistan is involved.
The location of the tournament is yet to be confirmed, as the ACC President had previously stated that India will not be traveling to Pakistan. The BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, had demanded that the Asia Cup be moved to a neutral venue last year.
