Karachi Kings President Wasim Akram Expresses Frustration After Last-Ball Defeat to Multan

Published:

On Wednesday, Karachi Kings lost a close match to Multan Sultans in the HBL PSL, with three of their four losses this season coming while chasing and falling short in the last over. This took its toll on Karachi Kings President, Wasim Akram, who slammed the sofa in anger after the match.

In the match, Karachi Kings were chasing a target of 197 runs, with James Vince hitting the fastest fifty of the season in just 20 balls. He and Mathew Wade scored 72 runs for no loss in the powerplay, with Vince on track to hit the fastest century in PSL history. However, he was run out for 75 due to a mix-up with Haider Ali, and Karachi kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

In the end, Karachi needed five runs from the last delivery but were unable to get it, with Imad Wasim’s unbeaten 46-run knock from 26 balls going in vain. Multan Sultans’ Abbas Afridi held his nerve in the final over and successfully defended 22 runs to steer his side to victory.
