During a recent Pakistan Super League match between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars, opener Mohammad Haris was left shocked when his bat was broken by Lahore Qalandars’ skipper, Shaheen Afridi, in the very first ball of the second innings.
Haris had been having a lighthearted conversation with an interviewer when Afridi asked him about a comment he had made regarding fellow cricketer Ihsanullah. Haris responded with a joke, saying that his “software had been updated” and that he took back his previous comment.
During an earlier match against Multan Sultans, Haris had played a great innings of 40 runs from 23 balls, but had only faced two deliveries from Sultans’ pacer, Ihsanullah. Haris had expressed regret that he couldn’t face more deliveries from Ihsanullah, as he felt confident in his ability to play against him.
Unfortunately for Haris, he didn’t get much of a chance to prove his skills against Shaheen Afridi in the match against Lahore Qalandars. After breaking Haris’ bat in the first ball, Afridi went on to pick up a five-wicket haul, helping his team secure a 40-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi.
