Former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja, has criticized the current management committee led by Najam Sethi for exerting too much control over the players.
During a live interaction with cricket fans, Ramiz called out the pressure being put on players by the PCB. He stated that the PCB was making it seem like players had to do as they say, no matter what.
Additionally, Ramiz confirmed through his sources that the appointment of the vice-captain of the Pakistan ODI team was influenced by outside forces. He revealed that the head coach received multiple calls to play Shan Masood, who was benched for two matches against New Zealand, and that the head coach and captain were ultimately forced to make the decision.
Ramiz Raja also accused the PCB of trying to justify their decision to appoint Shan Masood as vice-captain by putting pressure on the captain and head coach. He stated that the current chairman has no background in cricket and only attends meetings, posts pictures on Twitter, and presents ICC trophies to Babar.
He pointed out that Shan Masood’s appointment as the vice-captain of the ODI team before the New Zealand series was a unilateral decision made by the head of the PCB management committee, Najam Sethi
