Shadab Khan backs Babar Azam amid criticism for captaincy.
Pakistan cricket team’s captain, Babar Azam, has been under fire recently for his captaincy after the team failed to win a single Test match at home in 2022 and lost an ODI series to New Zealand on home ground.
However, fellow player and all-rounder, Shadab Khan, has come out in support of Azam, urging fans and critics to value the Pakistan captain and not criticize him unfairly.

In a recent interview with a local TV channel, Shadab praised Babar Azam as a “big diamond,” even bigger than the Kohinoor, and said that as a nation, Pakistan should respect and support him instead of putting undue pressure on him. Shadab expressed surprise at the criticism Babar has faced from former cricketers regarding his leadership qualities, saying that Babar is Pakistan’s biggest player and deserves respect for his contributions to the team.
Babar Azam was recently awarded the ICC Cricketer of the Year award for his performances in 2022.
