Shaheen Afridi, the skipper of Lahore Qalandars, has created a new record in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by becoming the most successful captain in terms of win percentage. The young 21-year-old left-arm fast bowler has led his team to an impressive 14 wins in 20 matches, giving him an outstanding win percentage of 70.00. Afridi’s excellent form this season has been pivotal to his franchise team’s success, with the Qalandars currently sitting at the top of the table with six wins in seven matches and being the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Shaheen’s record has surpassed other successful PSL captains such as Mohammad Rizwan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Sarfraz Ahmed, and Darren Sammy, who have all achieved impressive win percentages in the past. Multan Sultans skipper, Mohammad Rizwan, is currently in second place with a win percentage of 67.7%, having led his team to ten wins in fifteen matches. Rizwan’s consistent performances as a captain and a player have also been a significant factor in his team’s success.
